Who we are
Shepherd Direct ("we", "us") provides direct mail printing, list services, and mailing services to businesses, primarily in the Tampa Bay area of Florida. You can reach us at hello@shepherddirectmail.com.
What we collect
Information you give us
- Contact details: name, business name, email address, phone number, industry
- Return address for your mail piece (required by USPS on every piece)
- Campaign details: mail piece type, quantities, target ZIP codes and carrier routes
- Artwork files you upload
- Mailing list files you upload, which may contain third-party personal information
- Account credentials if you create an account
Information collected automatically
- Basic analytics: pages viewed, referring source, approximate location by IP
- Device and browser information
- Local storage on your device to keep your cart and preferences between visits
Information we do not collect
We do not store your full payment card number. Card payments are processed by Stripe, which handles card data directly. We receive only a confirmation that payment succeeded and the last four digits.
Mailing list data, read this part
When you upload a mailing list, that file contains personal information about people who are not our customers. We treat it as follows:
- We use it only to produce and mail your campaign
- We do not sell it, rent it, merge it into our own database, or reuse it for another client
- We store it in access-restricted storage and delete it on request
- You are responsible for having the legal right to mail to those addresses
When we build a list for you, we source it from licensed third-party data providers. That data is licensed for a specific campaign use, not sold to you outright, and remains subject to the provider's terms.
How we use your information
- To quote, produce, address, sort, and mail your campaign
- To send proofs and get your approval before printing
- To process payment and issue receipts
- To provide support and respond to your messages
- To send occasional information about our services, you can opt out at any time
- To comply with USPS requirements and applicable law
Who we share it with
We share only what is necessary, only with parties who need it to deliver your campaign:
- Printing partners, artwork and quantities
- USPS, mailing documentation, addresses, and postal paperwork
- List and data vendors, when you ask us to build or hygiene a list
- Stripe, payment processing
- Google Firebase, hosting of account data, orders, and uploaded files
- Netlify, website hosting
We do not sell your personal information. If we are ever required to disclose information by subpoena, court order, or law, we will do so and will tell you unless legally prohibited.
How long we keep it
- Order and campaign records: seven years, for tax and accounting purposes
- Artwork files: three years, so you can reorder without re-uploading
- Uploaded mailing lists: one year, or deleted immediately on request
- Account data: until you ask us to delete the account
Your choices
- Ask us what we hold about you, and get a copy
- Correct anything inaccurate
- Ask us to delete your data, subject to records we are legally required to keep
- Opt out of marketing email at any time
- Ask us to delete an uploaded mailing list immediately after a campaign mails
Email hello@shepherddirectmail.com and we will respond within 30 days.
Security
Data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored with access controls that restrict each customer to their own records. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your information, we will notify you as required by Florida law.
Children
Our services are for businesses. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes
If we change this policy materially, we will update the date above and, for significant changes, email account holders.
